Marcus is not very PC. Especially when it comes to Mexican Beaded Liazrds.

So I thought I'd try something a little different with the line art for Dara's scenes to present a more thorough distinction between the two parts of the story.

As an additional test, the two color panels were done using different techniques. The flats and lighting effects in the top one are done with a crayon tool and the bottom one with my standard fill tool. Can I get some opinions on which variation folks prefer?

Anyway, happy Mother's day to all the moms out there.

I'll be blunt, man. Much of the subtleties of these varying techniques are lost on my crappy laptop monitor.

I'm going to be honest. I really like the fill tool better.

This page made me cringe AND laugh AT THE SAME TIME!

Kind of a relief. The other one is like, twice the work. Might try a mix and match with the crayon shadows. Might give the feel I'm looking for without compromising the color.

Hahaha! Mission accomplished.

My two cents on technique: The blur and blend tools (used on a masked layer) are absolute murder on areas that would've just normally been a flat fill.

Dropping some sorta texture (appropriately stolen from Google images) over the whole panel with a layer set on multiply can increase grittiness too.

If I can get the look from panel 5 consistent I'll be really happy.
