It may be important to note that Teo is incredibly religious. Though he wants to be the first to defeat the Lords of Xibalba on their own court, he is also, in his heart, a humble worshiper.

A few things going on this week. First of all, My good friend Profetheric is launching the reboot of Autumn Bay tomorrow, so check that out. I've seen some teaser images and it's looking really good.

Next, you may or may not have noticed my side project spamming the recently updated the other day. Artificial Love is a very low art story I threw together because... well, I wanted to know if I could. The low art format let me crank out pages really fast and I actually got to finish a story.

Proof of concept. Expect more short stories in the future. Possibly with a slightly higher art level. I want to do more with framing and just basically have a layout good to go if I ever want to do the art right.

Whoa! OK.
He must be experienced to pull that off like that :O

Throwing a heart into a fire. I guess that is some twisted expression of "burning heart love" towards your enemies!

He's very familiar with the procedure.

It's got more to do with devotion than love.

Looks like a pretty intense tribal ritual to me.

Love the way that fire turned out by the way.

Thanks! Only just now do I realize I left the blood off his arms and face in that last panel. I'l have to go back and fix that later.

Thanks! I'm having fun with them. By the time this story is over I'm gonna be really good at drawing blood.

You know, if there really is such a thing as Gods, then maybe a sacrifice like this does offer some kind of energy exchange or something to them. It might have actually produced results for the primitive peoples of old.
Or, maybe it is complete superstitious B.S. Lol
Anyway, I am glad I do not live in a time and culture that sacrifices people like that.

I have to imagine that dedication of this caliber would have to go noticed if Gods like this existed.

I use the standard Fantasy rules for Gods. Devotion translates directly to power.

I'm... really not going to go to Dr. Teo for what ails me...

Thank you for the plug, good sir. I will see what I can do to return the favor. :D

Yeah, his surgical style doesn't really take the patient's well being into account.

Any time my friend.
